Shavyrin memorial competition marked with ice-rink records
From 23 till 25 October 2015 the Kolomna speed skating stadium of the Moscow region was the venue for the All-Russian speed skating competition In the memory of B.I. Shavyrin (qualification for the World cup).
It is no mere chance that this competition is connected with the name of the legendary KBM founder. Boris Ivanovich Shavyrin initiated construction of the USSR first ice rink with artificial ice so that speed skaters could train almost the entire year. He also organized All-Union speed skating events in Kolomna, established a children's speed skating school that produced several Olympic games prize winners and world champions. 1964 is the initial year of designing the big speed skating centre that was constructed by S.P.
